A two-stage spin process allows dispensing at low speeds and homogenizing the coating at high speed.

The KW-4A spin coater can be used to deposit metal oxide thin films, polymer coatings and metal organic thin films.

(1) The device uses the advanced American technology.

(2)Stator and rotor are supplied with power separately. The former is supplied with exciting current by stable power supply, and the latter is regulated by switching supply which is much better than silicon control. The regulation is stable when the speed is between 1000rpm and 8000rpm.

(3)The spin coater runs in two-level speed. It first runs in low speed to scatter coat and then in high speed. The two speeds and relevant time can be adjusted respectively.

(4) The spin coater determines the speed using photoelectric measurement. There are three notches in the edge of photoelectric measuring disk. The reflection zone and absorption zone are located around the disk. A photoelectric switch is installed beneath the disk edge. When light goes to the switch, it is reflected to a receiver to generate photoelectric pulse. When the measuring disk rotates for one cycle, three pulses are generated. The light gate is generated by second pulse circuit, the duration is two seconds. When a motor rotates, if a timer counts by n in two seconds, there shall be n/(2x3)=n/6 cycle in one second, and (n/6)x60=10n cycle in one minute. Thus, a counter counts the revolution per minute, only the order of magnitude makes the difference.

(5) The absorber adopts solenoid valve for controlling air passage, which is suitable for the technique of pipelining. And only one air pump can drive several spin coaters to work at the same time, which has the efficiency improved.

(6) The timing function of the spin coater is performed by time base circuit 556. Connect the 556 in monostable form and change the constant of RC, and then the two spin coating time is changed.

(7) The spin coating time is adjusted intellectually, controlled respectively 1~18s and 3s~1min.

(8) Damping measures are taken on the installation structure so as to ensure the noise under running to keep low and the coating surface to be even and the coating thickness to be regulated via regulating the rotate speed.
